Out with touts
Royal Blood call out ticket touts, ask fans to sign petition
“We have seen first-hand how our fans have experienced problems caused by the unscrupulous actions of professional Ticket Touts.”

Royal Blood have encouraged fans to sign a petition, calling for tougher sanctions on those who purchase gig tickets and resell at a higher price.
Spoken like true politicians, the Brighton duo say: “In the last 2 years of touring we have seen first-hand how our fans have experienced problems caused by the unscrupulous actions of professional Ticket Touts.
“The ecstatic feeling of announcing and putting a tour on sale is short-lived when we immediately see that these tickets are marked up at a staggering increase and listed on Secondary Ticketing Websites. The plague of Ticket Touts who harvest huge volumes of tickets online and then immediately sell them at many times the face value must stop.”
They continue: “We do not want to deny fans the opportunity to resell a ticket if they cannot attend a show, but we do want to curb the escalating problem of ticketing touting and ticket fraud.”
It’s a very professional call to arms from the duo, who are trying to push this online petition through the 100,000 signatures mark, whereby it will be considered for debate in Parliament.
At the time of writing, the petition currently has just over 30,000 signatures.
