Royal Blood: ‘I Don’t Think It’s Out Of The Question For An Album To Come Out Next Year’

There may have only been one single to come from Royal Blood so far, but it’s not the only thing they’ve got up their sleeves.

Already causing ripples of excitement on both sides of the musical spectrum, this noisy Brighton duo have been quick to make friends in high places. With fans already ranging from the likes of Bring Me The Horizon to Arctic Monkeys, they’ll be in alright company when it comes to loud rock and roll, especially if an album comes together as quickly as they anticipate.

“I don’t think it’s out of the question for an album to come out in May next year,” vocalist / bassist Michael Kerr boldly claims. “We pretty much spent this whole year writing music, and I guess we almost tricked ourselves into writing an album. It’s just a case of recording, actually.”

It’s not as though their sound came together effortlessly, though; as they say, practice makes perfect, which meant a lot of the former for this duo to get their output spot on. ‘My sound has taken a long time to craft,” he explains. “I use three amplifiers at the same time, but that’s all I can really say. It’s a secret, I’m not about to give it away, it took me really long to make it sound as big as that! We don’t want to hide behind any insecurity of being a two-piece. I think it’s quite easy to go ‘right, let’s be as loud as possible because there’s only two of us’ and hide among that. But the most important thing for us is that we’re writing good songs.”
