Sam Smith cancels more live appearances, “very upset”
The singer posts a stylish statement online.

After having already cancelled a string of gigs owing to vocal trouble, Sam Smith has been forced to postpone more, as he revealed he needs an operation.
Posting a (stylish, fancily-formatted) statement on his social networks, Smith said he was “very upset” but his ten-day rest hasn’t been enough to cure his vocal cords.
“I’m so gutted to be missing all the shows and events I was meant to be playing at,” he says.
He was supposed to appear at the BBC’s Big Weekend in Norwich next week, plus Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at the beginning of June, and Disclosure and Rudimental’s Wild Life festival in Brighton the same weekend fall within the “6-8 week” period he mentions.
Rudimentary maths and a calendar tell us he should be recovered in time for T in the Park in July. He also appears at V Festival in August.
