Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran & Royal Blood all win big at the BRIT Awards 2015

Mark Ronson, Paloma Faith and One Direction also bag themselves awards.

That’s it then. The biggest night in the British music calendar has drawn to a close and, well, it’s definitely had its moments.

Whether it was in the confetti rain of Taylor Swift or the real-life droplets falling on Paloma Faith, the awkward TV muting of Kanye West’s en masse performance, or that excruciating gritted-teeth moment during Madonna’s closing number, there’s been just about a bit of everything during tonight’s show. Luckily for everyone involved, some people won some awards too.

Tonight was, unsurprisingly, all about Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, who both managed to bagsy themselves two trophies a-piece, along with the likes of Royal Blood, Mark Ronson and Paloma Faith, who all also got their hands on those Tracey Emin-designed statues.

The full list of winners is as follows.

Best British Male Solo Artist – Ed Sheeran
British Group – Royal Blood
International Female Solo Artist – Taylor Swift
Best British Female Artist - Paloma Faith
BRITs Global Success Award – Sam Smith
International Male Solo Artist – Pharrell Williams

“This is amazing, and [the statue’s] so beautiful,” Sam Smith said, after accepting his awards for the BRITs Global Success and British Breakthrough Act, before thanking his fans. “I love you so much, more than you’ll ever know. I can’t wait to get my second album to you.”
