SBTRKT confirmed as new host on BBC Radio 1’s Residency
Breach has also been given a slot on the channel, whilst James Blake and his 1-800 Dinosaur cohort make a return.

BBC Radio 1 have added two hosts to their residency series, with SBTRKT and Breach hosting new shows this month. The new additions come after Flying Lotus and Jon Hopkins both ended their recent stints on the channel in June.
Speaking of his residency, SBTRKT said, “BBC Radio 1 has been a large part in my journey making and playing music - from listening to new music on Westwood and Pete Tong when growing up, to finding new music through Gilles Peterson & Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, the Essential Mixes, the Maida Vale sessions and all the DJs who have supported my music and performances to this day. It will be a great honour to get to play some inspiring music on the Residency show!”
After leaving the residency series at the end of 2014, 1-800 Dinosaur – headed by James Blake – will also be making a return to the station. The collective have been laying low since the shambolic run of club nights with Frank Ocean back in April – perhaps there’s chance of the group finally addressing that debacle when they take to the airwaves on July 9th.
