Last Nite
See footage from The Strokes’ first show in three years
New York show saw the band run through ‘Comedown Machine’ for the first time.
Last night witnessed the first live performance from The Strokes in three years. It took place in Port Chester, New York, acting as a warm up show for the band’s appearance at New York’s Governors Ball. The set spanned seventeen tracks, taking in all of the group’s records, including their latest, 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’. Footage has emerged from the night - you can watch performance highlights below.
Back in 2013 the band announced that they’d end a relative hiatus in 2014. Members of the group have been busy on various solo projects - Albert Hammond Jr. is fresh from releasing his ‘AHJ’ album, while Julian Casablancas is promising new material with his current project, The Voidz. A ten-minute album trailer, plus shows at SXSW, has yet to be followed up with any concrete release plans.
The Strokes play New York Governors Ball (6th-8th June) and FYF Festival (23rd-24th August). Watch the band debut ‘One Way Trigger’ and ‘Happy Ending’ from last night’s show.
