The Strokes share new ‘Reality Awaits’ preview ‘Falling Out Of Love’
Autotune reigns supreme, it seems.
The Strokes are back with new single ‘Falling Out Of Love’, our second taste of what to expect from their forthcoming LP ‘Reality Awaits’ (due out on 26th June via Cult Records/RCA Records) following the arrival of lead track ‘Going Shopping’ last month.
Like its predecessor, ‘Falling Out Of Love’ is a vocoder-laden offering, but this time Julian Casablancas and co. have traded peppy percussion and propulsive guitar lines for something altogether more balladic, drawing on gentle progressions and swelling atmospherics to evoke an uncanny sense of emotional stakes.
Recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin, ‘Reality Awaits’ will be the NYC legends’ seventh full-length, and the follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed ‘The New Abnormal’.
The Strokes are set to premiere ‘Falling Out Of Love’ tomorrow night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, but in the meantime, you can listen to the audio down below.
What’s more, to celebrate the arrival of ‘Reality Awaits’, The Strokes have scheduled a huge international tour, spanning dates in North America, Japan, the UK, Europe, and South America. Find out full details of where you can catch them live this year below.
