The Strokes confirm plans to release seventh album ‘Reality Awaits’
The long-awaited follow-up to their 2020 release ‘The New Abnormal’ is due this June.
New York ’00s legends The Strokes have confirmed plans to release their newest album - their seventh full-length - ‘Reality Awaits’ this summer.
The band, who reportedly began work on the album back in 2022, will follow up their 2020 release ‘The New Abnormal’ with their newest full-length on 26th June, when it’s released via via Cult Records/RCA Records. While details about the record are still a little scarce, we do know that it was recorded in Costa Rica with none other than Rick Rubin, and includes their new single ‘Going Shopping’, a sonically breezy delight, which you can check out below.
News of their new album follows on from the release of their box set, ‘The Singles - Volume 01’, which landed back in 2023 and comes ahead of a handful of upcoming live appearances, including Coachella, in Indio, CA, this month, as well as headline spots at upcoming events Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Summer Sonic 2026.
