Self Esteem dives into her own head in the video for ‘Your Wife’

Last month, Slow Club’s Rebeca Taylor emerged as Self Esteem with the track ‘Your Wife’. Produced by Django Django’s Dave Mclean, the tune – which is officially out on 24th November via Kick and Clap – pushed her musical boundaries and also saw her ruminating on an increasingly male-dominated world.

Now Rebecca’s got a new video for the track, that’s lavish on the one hand but a little surreal on the other. In it, she rubs lotion on a guy, who reciprocates the gesture, eats the world’s biggest leg of meat straight from the bone, pulls some strong body-builder poses, gets a pizza delivered to her and surrounds herself with ‘Charlie’ perfume (don’t say you never used it).

Speaking of the video, Rebecca said: “I wanted to make a video that looked like the inside of my head. A world where we are sexy yet disgusting, we eat Domino’s pizza like caviar, everyone is tight and oiled and I bathe in pre-brexit 5ers. Welcome”.
