Shame share latest ‘Cutthroat’ preview ‘Quiet Life’
The South London lot have also announced details of a 2026 North American tour.
Having recently made a roaring return with ‘Cutthroat’ - the title track of their upcoming fourth album, due out on 5th September via Dead Oceans - Shame have now offered up the record’s second single, ‘Quiet Life’.
A comparatively tender, rockabilly-influenced track, it adopts the perspective of someone struggling to get out of a toxic relationship, and showcases an alternative - but no less biting - side to the band’s next project. As frontman Charlie Steen explains: “‘Quiet Life’ is about someone in a shitty relationship. It’s about the judgment they receive and the struggle that they have to go through, trying to understand the conflict they face, of wanting a better life… but being stuck.”
