Shamir has unveiled a video for ‘Darker’, a standout track from his debut album ‘Ratchet’.
In stark contrast to the LP’s heady, twisted-house norm, ‘Darker’ is the Las Vegas newcomer’s take on emotional balladry.
Led by military drums and spiralling synths, it’s all based around Shamir Bailey’s life-affirming lyrics: “It doesn’t get darker, unless you expect it to.” An accompanying video channels the song’s wild moodswings, switching from the open desert to a starry night.
