As if we weren’t excited enough about Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory - the sequel to Finding Nemo - it’s been announced that Sia will perform the film’s end credit song.
A cover of the classic ‘Unforgettable’ by Irving Gordon, as made famous by Nat King Cole, fans of Finding Nemo will chuckle at the cheeky irony of the song given that Dory, the blue tang fish voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, is famously forgetful.
Sia performed the song last week on DeGeneres’ show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said: “Dory’s story makes me teary. When Ellen asked me, I couldn’t refuse!”
Director Andrew Stanton is a fan of the Australian singer-songwriter: “In the same way Robbie Williams did his own unique twist on a classic song for Finding Nemo, Sia captures the soulful truth of the Nat King Cole classic Unforgettable, and makes it all her own.” Stanton continued: “They are a perfect complement to one another, just like the two films. We couldn’t be happier, and are really hoping to get tickets to her October show at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif. Just throwin’ it out there.”
Fingers crossed Stanton gets on the guest list but in the meantime check out Sia’s Unforgettable performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show below.
Finding Dory is released in UK cinemas on 29th July by Disney Pixar.
