Sia unveils ‘Elastic Heart’ video, responds to controversy

Sia has unleashed a video for ‘Elastic Heart’, the latest single to be taken from last year’s ‘1000 Forms of Fear’.

Unfolding inside an enlarged birdcage, the clip features Maddie Ziegler - the haunting child star of Sia’s much talked about ‘Chandelier’ video - wrestling with Shia LaBeouf in a tug of war of interpretive dance. Both clothed in mud-stained, skin-coloured apparel, the edgy choreography that they follow has invited heaps of criticism from commentators and concerned onlookers on social media, prompting Sia to tweet a response.

Directed by Daniel Askill, one of the Australian singer’s most frequent collaborators, the video, in addition to triggering swathes of controversy, has received just over 3.5 million YouTube views.
