Silicon shares video for debut single, ‘God Emoji’
Kody Nielson’s single is out via Domino imprint Weird World on 25th May
Silicon is the project of Kody Nielson - brother of Ruban Nielson aka Unknown Mortal Orchestra - who in 2012 released his debut album ‘Electric Hawaii’ under the moniker Opossom.
Returning last month under his new name, the lead single ‘God Emoji’ now has a video, ahead of the single release on 25th May via Domino Records imprint Weird World. An debut album has been confirmed to follow in later 2015.
Directed by Sam Peacocke, the new clip was shot in Nielson’s hometown of Auckland, and follows a singular animatronic figure performing in vibrant and natural landscapes. Starring Nielson himself, he loiters around a flat daydreaming in the bath.
Silicon has announced three dates taking place in May to support the single, including a headline show in London, and two performances with Unknown Mortal Orchestra in London and Amsterdam. Catch Silicon on the following:
MAY
21 London, Islington Assembly Hall (w/ Unknown Mortal Orchestra)
25 Amsterdam (NL), Bitterzoet (w/ Unknown Mortal Orchestra)
26 London, Power Lunches
