Sky Ferreira to star in upcoming film Elvis & Nixon

Sky Ferreira has landed herself another acting role, announcing that she will feature in a forthcoming film ‘Elvis & Nixon’ on her Instagram feed. The upcoming movie features Michael Shannon playing Presley and Kevin Spacey cast as the President. The cast also includes Johnny Knoxville, Tracy Letts, Colin Hanks, with the film directed by Liza Johnson based on a screenplay written by Joey and Hanala Sagal.

The film is based on a meeting between the two during Nixon’s presidential term in December 1970. Presley wrote to Nixon requesting to be made a Federal Agent-at-Large for the bureau of narcotics. Ferreira is cast as Jerry Schilling’s partner, a friend of Elvis who accompanied the singer during the trip.

Ferreira confirmed in November 2014 that she is working with Bobby Gillespie and Ariel Rechtshaid on the follow up to her debut album ‘Night Time, My Time’. Watch the video for ‘I Blame Myself’ below.
