Sleater-Kinney are working on a new album

Carrie Brownstein says “we’re going to do this very slowly”.

It looks like Sleater-Kinney are working on the follow-up to 2015’s storming ‘No Cities To Love’!

In an interview with Billboard about ‘Portlandia’, Carrie Brownstein spoke about recording new music with bandmates Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss. She also said that they weren’t in too much of a hurry to rush it out. “Now, just so you know, we’re going to do this very slowly”, she said. “It’s an ongoing conversation”. Well, she does have her first feature film, ‘Fairy Godmother’, coming up this year too, but any Sleater-Kinney news is good news!

Back in October, the band released ‘Here We Come’ as part of the ‘7 Inches for Planned Parenthood’ series. Corin Tucker also released an album with Filthy Friends, alongside R.E.M guitarist Peter Buck, singer-songwriter Scott McCaughey, Bill Rieflin and guitarist Kurt Block.

In 2015, we talked to Sleater-Kinney about their reunion and ‘No Cities To Love’. Revisit the full interview here.
