Sleigh Bells and Tink unveil video for ‘That Did It’

Sleigh Bells have unveiled a new video to accompany ‘That Did It’, a song they recorded over the summer and released last week with Chicago’s rising rap star Tink.

The song was recorded as part of Red Bull’s Sound Select programme,

The video, directed by Grant Singer (Sky Ferreira, Ariel Pink), sees Sleigh Bells’ Alexis Krauss and Tink donning various sleek outfits whilst executing a mini dance routine and throwing unfathomable amounts of shade.

On working with Tink, Krauss explains, “I was like, ‘OK, cool. You know what the fuck you’re doing.’ It was a joy working with somebody who was that good and that fast.”

There’s no sign of the band’s Derek Miller in the video, but when the signature guitar riffs come in towards the end, it’s clear he’s there in spirit.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Miller said, “we weren’t contractually obligated to put something out, to make that clear, so we didn’t’ anticipate anything actually coming of it… But I figured, ‘What The Hell?’”

Tink has also released new song ‘Tell The Children’. Produced by Timbaland, it explores the issue of police brutality, inspired by the latest news in the Ferguson and Michael Brown story.
