Snippet of Sam Smith’s Bond theme shared
‘Writing’s on the Wall’ will be released on Friday.
A snippet of Sam Smith’s Bond theme has been shared online, ahead of its reveal - and release - on Friday.
The track, previously one of the worst-kept secrets in pop, despite Smith’s repeated insistence he wasn’t partaking in the whole charade or anything, is titled ‘Writing’s on the Wall’, and accompanies film Spectre, which hits cinema screens from 26th October.
The snippet doesn’t feature any vocals - in fact, it’s just some sweeping strings of the kind that scream “007!”, so there’s little indication of what the track may sound like, except that it’s gonna sound like a Bond theme (duh).

Writing on Twitter as he revealed the news last week, Smith said it was “one of the highlights of my career”, and that he’s “excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy.”
In other news, Smith has reportedly said the follow-up to gazillion-selling debut ‘In The Lonely Hour’ might be some time yet, telling OK Magazine:
“I’m excited, but it’s not going to be anytime soon. I think people are going to get bored of me if I carry on. I’m just trying to make it the most honest work I’ve ever done.”
