SOPHIE announces new single, streams ‘LEMONADE’

Enigmatic London-based producer SOPHIE has returned with his first single since last year’s outstanding ‘BIPP’/‘ELLE’.

‘Lemonade’/‘Here’ is out digitally / on limited edition vinyl from 4th August via Numbers. The first half gained its first play on a Cashmere Cat mix at the end of last week - it’s now streaming in sweet, sugar-draped entirety below.

The track adds further momentum to SOPHIE x PC Music’s curious, cultish and scientific take on pop music. A blink-and-you-missed-it, sickly chorus sweeps in for ten odd seconds. The rest is devoted to gooey, splintered verses, some of which sound like bubble-wrap being popped underwater. Impossibly saccharine and devoted to the future, it’s a single that cements the hype.

This weekend SOPHIE plays London’s Visions Festival (2nd August).
