St. Tropez embrace their demons with ‘Order’ video
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from St. Tropez.Beyond the strut and the sleaze of St. Tropez’s music, they’re always capable of flicking a switch and opening a new door. ‘Order’, their latest track, finds the Amsterdam group verging into dark and deranged territory; all barking, rabid chants and showy solos. And in an accompanying video, they clash head-first with their evil alter ego. Streaming below, the video finds St. Tropez possessed. Lured in by a single white light, they cart broken pieces of a temple into the distance, for no apparent reason. Turns out, there is a meaning behind this. The band’s previous videos for ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall in Love’ and ‘Son of God’ are the first two parts of a trilogy, the final step being ‘Order’’s Lynchian oddities. Next month, St. Tropez tour Europe with Crows, with loads of European festival dates scheduled for the summer. Full schedule here. Watch St. Tropez’s ‘Order’ video below.
