Stef Chura announces ‘Messes’ reissue, shares ‘Speeding Ticket’ video

The singer has signed to Saddle Creek, with the reissue out in February.

Detroit’s Stef Chura first came onto our radar at the start of the year with the jaw-droppingly brilliant ‘Spotted Gold’, a track we described as “scrappy, plimsoll scuffing, and a little bit bonkers”. Solidifying her promise at this year’s SXSW, Chura is now set to reissue her debut album ‘Messes’, and to top it all of, she’s signed to Saddle Creek!

To celebrate the announcement - the reissue comes out physically on 2nd February, with the whole thing streaming in full now - the singer has shared a new video for ‘Messes’ track ‘Speeding Ticket’.

The clip sees Chura taking a drive into the night and escaping from sitting on the kitchen floor of house parties.

Telling us about ‘Speeding Ticket’ over email, the singer says: “’Speeding Ticket’ is a song I wrote 10 years ago that deals with losing a friendship and missing that person so badly that you are forced into having lucid dreams with them in it.

Spending time with them in the dream was something I really looked forward to.”

Watch the new video below. ‘Messes’ is out physically via Saddle Creek on 2nd February. Pre-order the record here.
