Sundara Karma announce new album ‘Better Luck Next Time’
The band recently shared their latest single ‘Friends of Mine’.
Indie darlings Sundara Karma have announced details of their new album, after sharing their newest track, ‘Friends of Mine’ last month - it marks their first music in over a year, since last April’s ‘Oblivion!’ EP. Harking back to the euphoric, guitar-driven sound of their debut album ‘Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’, the single marks the beginning of a new - but nevertheless familiar - era for the band.
The band have now confirmed they will release their third album ‘Better Luck Next Time’ on 27th October 2023, and that the nine-track record comes produced by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteeners, The Wombats).
‘Friends of Mine’ - and, we expect, the album as a whole - is a move away from the more experimental electro-pop of recent releases, but maintains the essence of fun which sits at the core of the band. Talking about their sonic shift, vocalist Oscar Pollock explains that “‘Friends of Mine’ is just a taste of what’s to come. It’s an ode to friendship and sounds reminiscent of what we were doing on our first album. We can’t wait for our fans to experience the full album and see us play these new songs live!”.
Sundara Karma are seasoned professionals when it comes to the live circuit, having spent the last decade touring and filling festival lineups across the country: they’ve now also announced plans for a UK tour, which will take place in November and December.
