T in the Park opens this year’s ‘T Break’ contest
Tennents’ annual hunt to find new talent for the festival launched.

Every year since 1996, the T Break stage at T in the Park has played host to all kinds of newcomers - some of which have gone on to bigger things (see Snow Patrol, Twin Atlantic and a little band called Biffy Clyro).
Sponsors Tennents are once again opening up applications to unsigned artists based in Scotland (sorry everyone else) for the chance to be one of 16 acts appearing at this year’s festival.
“Tennent’s are so proud to be celebrating 20 years of T Break this year,” goes the obligatory quote - this one from Tennents’ Head of Sponsorship, George Kyle, “T Break has been an exciting and inspiring journey over the past 20 years and something that Tennent’s has always strongly believed in. Seeing so many Scottish unsigned musicians come through the process, and in some cases go on to achieve massive success, has been the source of much pride for Tennent’s Lager as a brand and we look forward, once again, to all the entries coming in again this year”
Head to tennents.com/tbreak to put you or your band forward. Entry closes midnight 6th April. Obviously, because Tennents is a lager brand, you’ve also got to be over 18.
This year’s T in the Park will feature appearances from The Libertines, Kasabian, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, St. Vincent, alt-J, Peace, and Years & Years - plus loads more. It takes place at the new home of Strathallan Castle between 10th and 12th July.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
