Tame Impala release ‘Disciples’ track
Hear another taste of forthcoming LP ‘Currents’.
Tame Impala have unveiled the third song to be lifted from new album ‘Currents’.
‘Disciples’ links up with ‘’Cause I’m a Man’ and ‘Let It Happen’ in previewing the album, due out this summer. Filtered through a hazy aesthetic, it’s Kevin Parker and co.’s most direct song from the new album so far, spanning under two minutes. Listen below.
In a recent interview, Kevin Parker explained the new album’s direction, saying: “It kind of documents —though ‘documents’ is a shitty word — but it follows the progression of someone feeling like they are becoming something else. They’re becoming the kind of person they thought they’d never become. It’s like if you know someone and you’re close to them, and you can see them changing and morphing into a different person…. this is meant to tell the story from the inside, what’s going on in their head and why they’re seeing things differently and feeling like they go somewhere else mentally,” he told Under the Radar.
Tame Impala will play End of the Road (4th-6th September) and Bestival (10th-13th September).
