The Antlers, Beach House Record Songs For Lefse Space Compilation

consisting in part of space samples, gravity-defying noises to accompany Trevor Powers’ helium-dosed vocals. That track, ‘Worms’, is part of a new compilation curated by Lefse Records. Several brilliant artists have been asked to record new songs for a Record Store Day release.

The compilation is called ‘Space Project’. For their respective tracks, each artist has been asked to use samples from the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 space probes. It doesn’t have to be a primary instrument, but it needs to be in there somewhere. In a press release, the sounds of the probes are labelled ‘electromagnetic radiation fluctuations in the magnetosphere of the planets, moons, and large asteroids the Voyager probes traveled near.’

Joining Youth Lagoon in the compilation is Beach House, Mutual Benefit, The Antlers, Spiritualized, Porcelain Raft, Anna Meredith, The Holydrug Couple, Blues Control, Zomes, Absolutely Free, Larry & Gus, Jesu and Benoit & Sergio.
