The Avalanches tease film, starring Father John Misty, Danny Brown, Ariel Pink & more
Enigmatic Aussies are hinting at a new album.

The Avalanches recently announced their live comeback, and they’ve officially broken their silence with a cryptic teaser for a film, titled ‘Since They Left Us’.
It’s unclear whether this teaser will develop into a full-length movie, or whether it’s the first hint of a new album, their first in sixteen years.
Directed by Lost Art Films, the clip features cameos from Father John Misty, Danny Brown, Ariel Pink and Kirin J. Callinan, amongst others. It documents the will-they-won’t-they rumours that’ve followed the group post-‘Since I Left You’, and points towards a “second album, decades in the making.”
The trailer closes with the line “Coming Soon, Hopefully” - chances are we’ll be kept guessing for a good while.
The Avalanches will play Wild Life (11th-12th June), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
