Take a tumble The Gaslight Anthem unveil new track ‘Rollin’ And Tumblin’’
The New Jersey four-piece have revealed the first taste of new album ‘Get Hurt’.
Just last week, The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon told DIY that, whilst he was excited to have news of their forthcoming album finally out in the open, he just wished just “that we could’ve had some more material to release, obviously songs or something, to give more of an impression.” Now, his wish is coming true: the band have revealed the first track to be taken from ‘Get Hurt’.
Titled ‘Rollin’ And Tumblin”, the first cut to be taken from the New Jersey’s four-piece’s forthcoming record is a driving force in itself, harking back to the urgency of their debut ‘Sink Or Swim’. The track also marks the halfway point of the band’s fifth album.
As for the album itself, ‘Get Hurt’ is due for release on 18th August, and will follow up 2012’s ‘Handwritten’. Recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with producer Mike Crossey, Fallon has also said the band “wanted to try and find something that was different sonically, and with different feels and tempos, but also that maintained some of the character of the band. We didn’t wanna abandon who we were as a band.”
The band have also confirmed plans to return to the UK later this year, when they plan to head on tour in support of their fifth full-length. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
