The Horrors on their new album: “It’s going well now”
Group give an update on the follow-up to ‘Luminous’.
The Horrors have given another update on their new record, the follow-up to last year’s ‘Luminous’.
Speaking to Q Magazine backstage at London’s BST Hyde Park, frontman Faris Badwan confirmed progress on the new LP. “We’re recording our new record, at the moment. It’s traditionally a long process with The Horrors,” he told Paul Stokes.
He went on to say that recent European shows have helped keep things going for new material. “To be honest, playing live is one of the things I like most about being in a band. It’s definitely good for writing songs, because it keeps the chemistry going - whatever that means.”
Faris didn’t divulge too much more about new material, simply confining that they’re making steady progress. “It’s going well now, actually. We write a lot of songs and we usually throw them away. We’re getting quite a few together - I’m happy with how it is. Don’t ask me what it sounds like. I could say anything to you now and it’d sound completely different by the time we finish.”
Previously, when speaking to Clash, The Horrors said they were aiming to get a new release out by the end of 2015.
The Horrors will play Kendal Calling (30th July-2nd August), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
