The Maccabees announce first show in 8 years in aid of MS Society

The Maccabees have announced a small comeback show in aid of MS Society. The band will play The Dome in Tufnell Park on Friday 20th June, ahead of setting off on their UK and European tour.

The band’s guitarists, Felix and Hugo White, have organised the small show in aid of the charity. The pair - who are now ambassadors of MS Society - have supported the cause throughout their career, after losing their mother to multiple sclerosis (MS) when they were teenagers. MS affects over 150,000 people in the UK alone, with 135 people diagnosed each week.

The 300 capacity intimate show will be the first time the band have played together in eight years! Earlier this year the group announced that they would be reuniting for a UK and EU tour this summer - which includes a headline slot at All Points East Festival on Sunday 24th August - much to the delight of their fanbase.

“It’s going to be a special night,” said guitarist Felix White. “This show means a lot to us as MS is a cause close to our hearts. When we knew the band was getting back together, we really wanted to do something again to support the MS Society.”

Brother Hugo added: “Our mum had MS so we know the devastating effect it can have on young people and families. We’ve always done what we can to raise awareness and funds for the MS Society, and we’re delighted to be able to put on this show.”

Tickets to the show will be available via a ballot, which is open now. Entry is £5 per ticket, and hopeful fans are able to apply for up to two tickets. Successful entrants will be contacted on Monday 2nd June and be charged £20 (plus booking fees) per ticket, with all profits going to the MS Society’s Stop MS Appeal.
