The Music will release one last single before they split later this summer.
The band - who recently announced a handful of ‘farewell’ shows - will release ‘Ghost Hands’.
The track, originally destined for their fourth album, was produced by Richard McNamara (Embrace), and it will be available to download for free from the band’s website next Thursday, 21st April.
Talking about the single, lead singer Robert Harvey said: ‘We love the track and it just seemed a shame to leave it gathering dust for ever. It’s good to go out with something positive and new and we think it deserves to see the light of day. Hopefully the fans will agree - again we want to thank everyone who’s been with us on this journey and look forward to celebrating an amazing ten years this summer.’
Details of their forthcoming live shows are as follows:
AUGUST
04 O2 Brixton Academy, London
05 O2 Academy Leeds
06 O2 Academy Leeds
The band released three studio albums in total during the time they were active: their 2002 self-titled debut, 2004’s ‘Welcome To The North’, and 2008’s ‘Strength In Numbers’.
