The Stone Roses look set to release new music this week
The band’s bassist Mani revealed the information to a fan, possibly mid-selfie.

Update (10th May): Well bloody hell, looks like this might actually be happening.
This morning, a whole bunch of digital billboards across Manchester changed to show the same image for a few minutes at a time. While this might sound like the plot for a dodgy mid-series filler episode of Doctor Who on paper, the fact that said image was of The Stone Roses’ lemon logo suggests that these rumours might just be gathering momentum.
Check out a few tweets of the billboards below.
Looks like we’re getting new music from The Stone Roses this week, with a selfie-mad fan coaxing the information out of Mani over the weekend.
One Lewis Jones ran into the band’s bassist last night, snapping a selfie with the pouting string-slapper before confirming in a tweet (below) that there’s a “New stone roses single out next week, come from the man him self!!”
It’s set for a radio drop apparently, but no further info is known on precisely when we’ll see it. Keep your wireless on, then.
The Stone Roses returned at the tail end of last year with a bunch of tour dates after a hyped-to-the-hills teaser campaign, before promising new material after being spotted holing up in London’s Church Studios. It’s “glorious” apparently, which bodes pretty well indeed.
