The White Stripes will release ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ vinyl on Record Store Day
Wax copy of the album to be released for the first time, ten years on
The White Stripes will release a vinyl edition of their 2005 album ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ for 2015’s Record Store Day. This annual event will take place on Saturday 18th April, with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl serving as this year’s ambassador.
The double LP special edition of ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ comes on red and white vinyl, packaged alongside alternative artwork that reportedly “shifts upon movement”. The LP will also be available as a regular/black vinyl later in 2015, with new artwork included in the release. Both editions will be released on Jack White’s label, Third Man Records.
The White Stripes released their fifth album ‘Get Behind Me Satan’ in 2005, which went on to receive the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2006. The album bore three singles, ‘Blue Orchid’, ‘My Doorbell’, and ‘The Denial Twist’.
