The Xcerts share new track ‘Daydream’
They’ve teased some news on their new album too…

Back in July, The Xcerts returned with ‘Feels Like Falling In Love’, their first track since 2014’s ‘There Is Only You’.
Since then they’ve released a stripped-back, alternate version of the track, but now they’ve delivered a brand new tune. ‘Daydream’ was debuted by Huw Stephens and it’s a scuzzy, pop-fuelled number.
Speaking of the track, frontman Murray Macleod said: “Daydream was the first song we wrote for the new record and the lightbulb moment in regards to the 80’s influence that inhabits it . Musically it was very much inspired by Rick Springfield and Cheap Trick. We wanted to make an upbeat power pop anthem for people to run wild to! It’s about not taking loved ones for granted. You never know when they’ll exit your life, and when they do, it may feel like the things you shared and experienced with them was one big daydream. Cherish love…. And stay tuned for album news next week!”
Well, well, well, that’s a tantalising prospect indeed…
Recently, the band also revealed some extensive UK touring plans. Their shows will kick off in their adopted home of Brighton, with the trio stopping in Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol and Birmingham along the way. They’ll then wrap things up with a show at London’s Scala. Tickets are on sale now.
