The XX, Vampire Weekend Amongst 2013 AIM Awards Winners

In The Woods fest picked up the Golden Welly Award, as voted by DIY readers.

This year’s AIM Independent Music Awards took place in Central London last night, celebrating the best of independent music for the third year running.

Vampire Weekend, The xx and Frankie and the Heartstrings were recipients of some of the big awards, in a night that also saw performances from Franz Ferdinand and Billy Bragg, who rounded off the evening by being presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.

DIY readers voted on the Golden Welly Award for best independent festival, with In The Woods being crowned as the winner.
