Thurston Moore shares new cassette-only single ‘Chelsea’s Kiss’

Partial profits from the single will go to the Free Chelsea Manning campaign.

Former Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore has shared a new song called ‘Chelsea’s Kiss’ for this year’s Cassette Store Day. The annual tape-fest - which takes place on 8th October - will also see super-limited edition releases from Courtney Barnett, Fake Laugh, Pixies and Soft Walls.

Along with drummer Ryan Sawyer, and his regular bandmates Deb Googe of My Bloody Valentine, and Nøught’s James Sedwards, Thurston Moore recorded two new songs for cassette-only release. Partial profits from the sales will be donated to the Free Chelsea Manning campaign.

Chelsea Manning is a army private and former intelligence analyst who disclosed millions of documents containing classified or sensitive information to WikiLeaks. She was sentenced to thirty five years in military prison.

Thurston Moore’s limited edition cassette tape will be available from select stores taking part in Cassette Store Day, Ecstatic Peace Library events,Thurston Moore shows and online here for a limited time.
