Tokyo Police Club ‘Back From Vacation’

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from noisy Canadian types Tokyo Police Club - while 2011 saw the curious ‘10 Days. 10 Covers. 10 Years’ project that saw them covering a decade’s worth of songs including Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’ and LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends - we’ve not had a ‘proper’ album since 2010’s ‘Champ’.

And, while they found themselves touring in support of Foster The People across North America last summer, British shores haven’t hosted a live set since July 2010.

There have been murmurings of new material from the Ontario band for some time now - reports from the band’s live dates cited a new song ‘Beaches’ all the way back in late 2011 - but this evening saw them suggest something a little more concrete: they posted an image of them appearing to be working in studio surroundings with the caption ‘Okay we’re back from vacation. Not pictured: the gnarliest tone’
