Tripwires return with standalone track ‘Total Fascination Stuff’

Tripwires have shared their first new material since their breakthrough debut on Frenchkiss Records, ‘Spacehopper’.

“Total Fascination Stuff’ doesn’t appear on album number two (although in a new interview with DIY, they reveal that it’s on its way), but it’s a neat indication of where the band are headed. Gone is the scrappy aesthetic of their debut - in comes a lazy-day, breezy sound that requires a deceiving amount of exactitude.

Sessions for the album are taking place in London and Berlin, it’s expected to be finished in the “next couple of months” with various technical bits and bobs still requiring sorting.

For a standalone track, ‘Total Fascination Stuff’ is hugely exciting - it’s the sound of a band in their rudest form to date. Considering this is just an offcut, that’s a promising indication of what to expect.
