Twin Shadow Pens Full-Length Novel

‘The Night of the Silver Sun’ is a continuation of the narrative found in his ‘Five Seconds’ video.

Twin Shadow recently released his second album ‘Confess’ and to go alongside it - as any artist would - he’s written a full-length novel.

Continuing the story of his video for ‘Five Seconds’, Georges Lewis Jr. explained to Pitchfork that ‘The Night of the Silver Sun’ is ‘about a motorcycle gang in the future. The video is the prologue to the story, and it’s about friendship, in a way; two black motorcyclists who are fighting the good fight.”

If you’d to get more a taste of the novel itself, a previous publisher of Lewis - Elliot Aronow - has hosted an excerpt on his website.

‘…what looked like a lunar eclipse seemed to part the clouds and fill the sky with a brilliant display of color, an orgy of pastels and neons. A reveling burst of inexplicable sound echoed as the entire world swelled and seemed to pause. A quiet rain fell for a while, and a silence spread across the land…”

“They say that Georgie survived the flash encased in crystallized liquid that had leaked out of the heart of the moon, a new life frozen as if nature had kept him safe to rebuild the world.”

“When the Edwards family woke up to a re-terraformed, terrified Earth, the baby was still at the front of her mind even though thousands of years had passed.”

“My baby, my love, God has kept you wrapped in a diamond and now you will be my child.”

“I was born before the silver sun hit, but I can’t remember what it was like when the nights were just half the day and there were waves on the water. I can’t remember the moon.”
