Tyrannosaurus Dead unveil ‘Post Holiday Dead Song’ track
Song forms part of a new split single with Joanna Gruesome.
Brighton band Tyrannosaurus Dead have announced plans to release a split single with Joanna Gruesome, out next month. DIY’s got the first play of the new track, ‘Post Holiday Dead Song’.
The new track links up with Joanna Gruesome’s ‘Anti Parent Cowboy Killers’ (which is taken from last year’s ‘Weird Sister’ duet). The single’s out via Odd Box on 21st July.
A completely new, previously unheard cut, it sees Billy Lowe and Eleanor Rudge trading vocals like they’re running a 2 and a half minute-long relay race. After a breezy, gentle-on-the-senses opening, ‘Post Holiday Dead Song’ eventually unveils its raw inner core, with head-bursting guitars colliding like locked horns. It’s a song that documents the romance and the thrill of a getaway, followed by the inevitable heartbreaking comedown and switch back to reality. Oops there goes gravity, etc.
DIY’s got the first play below. Pre-order the split 7” single here. Meanwhile, catch Joanna Gruesome at the following shows this summer.
