Vampire Weekend cover Bob Dylan’s ‘Jokerman’ in homage to awful typeface

If you’ve been following Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig on social media recently, you’ll have noticed a certain obsession.

Jokerman is, according to its Wikipedia page, a typeface created in 1995 “mostly used for humour and vitality”.

Ezra even interviewed the typeface’s designer, Andrew K Smith, on his latest Time Crisis episode.

As it happens, Actual Legendary Songwriter Bob Dylan has a track called ‘Jokerman’. So you know what Ezra and his Vampire Weekend pals did after the frontman’s interview at GQ Live in Los Angeles the other day. Because of course…

Vampire Weekend should be releasing the follow-up to 2013’s epic ‘Modern Vampires of the City’ in 2019.
