Viagra Boys announce new album 'Viagr Aboys'

Swedish punk outfit Viagra Boys have returned with news of their brand new album, the spam filter-eschewing ‘Viagr Aboys’.

Their fourth record will follow on from their more politically-charged 2022 effort ‘Cave World’, but will admittedly be a little different in its scope. “The whole political thing was exhausting,” the band’s Sebastian Murphy has said in a press release. “This is like a self-titled album but a bit simple and stupid - because that’s how I am.”

‘Viagr Aboys’ is set to be eleven tracks in length and saw the band once again work alongside their frequent collaborator Pelle Gunnerfeldt. The record will be released on 25th April via their newly launched label Shrimptech Enterprises, and today, the band also shared its funky lead single - and the record’s opening track - ‘Man Made Of Meat’, which comes accompanied by a hilarious new video.

Set around Murphy’s accidental (and fictional) new art career, the tongue-in-cheek clip comes directed by Daniel Björkman, who has said this about its concept: “Imagination is gone. Creativity is a concept. Stealing is caring. Theft is priceless. Money a means to an end. Art is a lie. Computers are useless. Music is the ultimate teacher. Taste the enemy of creativity, and a better future. Artificial imagination is here. The world doesn’t make sense, so why should we make images that do?” Check out the video below.
