Watch a Chris Martin-fronted U2 play New York Times Square
Performance took place for World AIDS Day, with support of RED.
Coupled with Kanye’s “Laura, we’re on TV” moment, Times Square also hosted another special, one-off occasion for its World AIDS Day concert.
With the event supported by RED, U2 kicked off proceedings with the help of Chris Martin. The Coldplay frontman was filling in for Bono, who remains hospitalised following a nasty bike accident in Central Park.
The revamped U2 performed ‘Beautiful Day’ to kick things off. Following that, The Edge played ‘Change’ with Carrie Underwood, before U2 returned, this time fronted by Bruce Springsteen, who dedicated ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ to Bono.
The whole World AIDS Day concert is available to watch below - U2’s sections arrived 7 minutes and 38 minutes in, respectively.
