Christmas spirit
Watch a drunk Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco retell the story of Fall Out Boy
Three types of whiskey and “numerous beers” and the Panic! frontman is the archetypal drunk uncle.
With Christmas winding down, there’s little doubt several of you will be recovering from the drunken tales of a distant relative or schoolmate, as they regale you with their antics of the past year, and indeed every year previous. Well settle in once more, as Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie is here to fulfil that role once more – though this time with an in-depth (and yes, very drunk) tale of Fall Out Boy’s history.
Filmed after “shots of Coldcock whiskey, shots of Jameson, shots of Glenlivet Scotch, numerous beers throughout the day, numerous beers chugged before the shots… and a vodka Red Bull from Joe Trohman”, the Panic! At The Disco songwriter recaps every detail of long-time mates Fall Out Boy’s career to date.
From the earliest days where “Patrick was playing drums for some fuckin’ reason,” right through to the writing of “’Alone Together, ‘Light Em Up’, ‘Alone Together’ [and] ‘Phoenix’”, it provides a pretty brilliant insight. Though, admittedly, more into how great a drunk Brendon Urie is than anything else. Shot on Fall Out Boy’s ‘Save Rock And Roll’ tour, the video is a perfect recap of Fall Out Boy’s career ahead of the release of their upcoming sixth studio album ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’, which is due for release on January 16th, and is looking set to be pretty bonkers. Perhaps even more so than this video.
