Arctic Monkeys recorded a thirty-minute set for the BBC this weekend.

Focusing mainly on their new album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’, the band also included a few older favourites, including 2006’s ‘I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ and 2009’s ‘Cornerstone’.

The band played:
Cornerstone
One Point Perspective
R U Mine?
Four Out Of Five
I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
Do I Wanna Know
Star Treatment

Arctic Monkeys recently played their first UK live show in four years at the Royal Albert Hall, which showed them seamlessly mesh together their older material with the more difficult tracks on their new album.

After revealing that ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ was created largely by frontman Alex Turner on his own, and almost became his debut solo album, Alex told German Site Intro: “I was never interested in making a solo album.”

“I am a part of this band and one would disrespect the other,” he continued. “Nevertheless, I wanted to make this music, it was in me. When you compose on the piano, you automatically get different results than on the guitar. And it was important to me to say goodbye to the realism of most of the Arctic Monkeys stuff.”

“Overall, it developed in a direction that soon made me realise she had absolutely nothing to do with what people would expect from a Monkeys record.”
