Watch Beck and Karen O cover Lou Reed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

Patti Smith honoured the late musician at a Cleveland ceremony.

At last night’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Beck and Karen O performed covers of the late Lou Reed.

The musician was also honoured by Patti Smith, with his wife Laurie Anderson accepting an award on his behalf. Find our report on that here.

Karen O’s cover saw her joined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs bandmate Nick Zinner, as they performed Reed’s ‘Vicious’ track. Beck meanwhile took on the classic ‘Satellite of Love’, with fun.’s Nate Ruess joining on vocals.

As well as Lou Reed’s induction, Green Day, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bill Withers and, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band were also honoured at the ceremony. Ringo Starr was inducted with an award for ‘Musical Excellence’, while Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl and Tommy James performed with Joan Jett.
