Watch Darkside’s 30-Minute New York Boiler Room Set

Nico Jaar and Dave Harrington took to a NYC rooftop to play through their ‘Psychic’ album.

For their Boiler Room set, NYC-dwellers Darkside were given a more romantic location than the average dark basement room complete with shuffing Red Stripe-addling dancing humans.

Sure, this wasn’t Grimes playing Vengaboys with strangers playing on waterslides in the background, but as far as settings go, a New York rooftop isn’t too shabby.

Dave Harrington and beatsmith Nicolas Jaar played a 36-minute Boiler Room set, showcasing tracks from their ‘Psychic’ debut, which DIY called ‘exactitude in its grizzliest form. When they play live, Darkside perform in a much looser sense, almost as if they’re collaborating on something new for the first time. It’s dark and lurking, but when it gets into its stride, it makes for something genuinely terrifying.
