Watch: Earl Sweatshirt In First Ever Interview
Oh hey, it’s that time of the week again. Odd Future news alert! Look away now if you just don’t give a damn.
So Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt is finally back, in the living flesh and all, and has given his first ever interview to Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg. You can stream and watch the clip above.
Well we say interview, he doesn’t say that much. But he does impart a few words on his time spent away.
If you’re not too clued up on Earl’s back story, his mother sent him away to a correctional institute - seemingly not pleased with the way the young rapper was choosing to live his life.
But maybe Earl can explain it best:
‘Motherf**kers think that my mom heard a song and was like, No, I’m not f**king with this song. [But] I was f**king up. Outside of music, music aside from everything, I was f**king up.’
Earl expanded more on how it felt to miss out on the rap collective’s rise to stardom, having been away since 2010:
‘Yeah, initially [I was annoyed to miss it]. I also got to see that all this s**t isn’t fun all the time. For instance, the block that we came up on, like that we were there when no one was there, we get to like just be up there every day like it was nothing, I was up there the other day just trying to like skate around, and you f**king can’t do it. Cause someone’s like, Uh, Can I get a photo?’
Odd Future’s ‘OF Tape Vol. 2’ is out now.
