Gorillaz team up with Octavian on new track ‘Friday 13th’

After teaming up with Georgia and Joy Division’s Peter Hook for last Song Machine ep. ‘Aries’, Gorillaz have unveiled their fourth episode, featuring Octavian.

Titled ‘Friday 13th’, the hypnotic new track is accompanied by a video featuring appearances by Octavian, 2D, Noodle, Murdoc and Russel all self-filmed at home during lockdown. It also ends on a powerful quote by James Baldwin, reading: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced. It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.”

Offering his thoughts on the track, Russel offers, “Every day starts in the dark, and ends in the dark, but in the middle there is light.”
