Watch Jagwar Ma Cover Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’
The ‘Howlin’ Aussies wore ridiculous beach attire for their Triple J slot.
Australia radio station Triple J likes to host the brilliantly named ‘Like A Version’ series, in which very good bands cover very good songs by other great bands. Usually the studio looks like a haven of happiness, but this takes the biscuit. Jagwar Ma decided to pop in, wearing the most ridiculous surf attire (proof if ever it was needed that Australia is enjoying a sweltering summer).
The Aussie band released their ‘Howlin” debut last year, but this cover of Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’ comes from a different dimension. It’s sexy, doused in funk and it contains an unexpected Ace of Base refrain to conclude.
