Watch Sam Smith chat to Sam Mendes about Spectre’s ‘Writing’s On The Wall’

A new behind-the-scenes vlog from Spectre has been released, this time focusing on Sam Smith’s number one theme song, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’.

The vlog sees Sam Smith chatting about the genesis of the song with Spectre’s director, Sam Mendes. Smith said: “For me, the most timeless thing you can do, outside of making your own record is Bond. It’s the most timeless, classiest thing to me there is to do.”

Producer Barbara Broccoli says: “With Sam Smith we really couldn’t have picked anybody better,” and with Mendes wanting a love song Smith delivered in spades with his tortured, string-laden ballad.
